The Best Concert I've seen

When someone asks me what my favorite concert, instantly comes to mind Lollapalooza 2014, an international festival that lasts two days and is held every year in the O'Higgins Park. I went to the year 2014, to see my favorite band that was entoonces Imagine Dragons, a US national group that has an alternative style that makes a lot of emphasis on percussion.

To them I arrived at 8 in the morning, I saw several artists during the morning, as Lucybell, Gepe and others to go to the scene of Imagine Dragons are present, such as 2 pm, then wait about 3 hours under the sun, to be closer to the stage. It was exhausting, it was hot, I pressed a lot and was hungry, but it all paid off when I saw them out and see less than two meters from me. They were playing about two hours when I screamed, jumped and was more delighted face special effects and songs that had tremendous stage presence. An Expert on your field

It is difficult to find an anthropologist who admire, but a person I admire and I think partly anthropological work has been done without having a diploma to certify is to Paulo Freire.

 He was an educator and expert in education, of Brazilian origin. One of the most influential educational theorists of the twentieth century. He specialized in pedagogy through literacy, I admire him for the critical position that always kept about education and how he was able to implement their theoretical bases, especially what he called "the pedagogy of the oppressed".

This man has done anthropological work I admire most, and in future I would like to develop similar, serving the needs of the people and not the Academy.

The phrase that rescued him, or at least that is recurring in my life is: "It would indeed be naïve to expect that the ruling classes desarrollasen a form of education that allowed the dominated classes perceive social injustices critically. " I hope you enjoyed it as much as me

My favorite movie

My favorite movie is the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings " and within these 3 films that I like is " the community of the Rings" where a group of fantastic characters venture into a dangerous mission to destroy the rings of Mordor. In this film my favorite actor is the protagonist Frodo Baggins , played by actor Elijah Wood, who made a unrelenting work has been recognized in awards such as the "Oscar " or "the golden globes awards" 

Without a doubt my favorite part of the film, when it is in the city of elves "Rivendell" representatives of all the kingdoms of Middle Earth meet to define its future against the threat of power ring.
Finally if you could change something about the film, it would be its extension, because it's so long :( should ideally not last more than two and a half hours.

My favorite photograph

I think  that can hardly decide which is my favorite picture , knowing that there are so manygood pictures that may not remember right now . However in recent times , thisphoto makes me feel complete , perhaps it is so proud I am removing it duringthe last march organized by the CONFECH in October , where the crackdown byspecial forces police Chile was excessive , as in much of the manifestations ofthe past decade. That's what this photo represents the repression of socialmovements and the attempted dismantling of the same . That is why this is myfavorite picture , also I see all my effort embodied in it. Represents theshock experienced during the year, the passage of a quiet life in thecountryside to the hectic city life I live today , where every day is a fightfor my space

 

My favorite piece of technology: Mp3

In the last years, the technology  advanced quickly,  new mechanism  appear everyday that facilitate our lives. However, if I had to choose, I would select the Mp3. This is a little device, very basic, it's used to store and listen to thousands of songs.
I like it, because  in spite of being very ancient, its battery  lasts much longer than  that of modern cell or similar. The Mp3, gives rhythm to my life, in special on the trips each week. On the other hands, this small device, distracts me from my daily problems, therefore, it's very difficult to imagine a life without the Mp3. It's useful, small and very cheap, enough reason to be my favorite piece of technology.

My expectations for the new semester

When I say expectations, I don't imagine what the words include so many future dreams. However, throughout this semester, I hope to pass all the subjects, specially the ones that  need more effort, as statistics, evolution and English. Besides, I have more expectation with the extracurricular activities that I do, for example, I want to have very good achievement in the social organization "Línea antropología de la educación", of which I'm member from last semester. On the other hand, I want  to unite  my generation, because I think that the little groups inside us are separated. Finally, I hope that it's  a semester with a lot of challenges, to learn  all this

hi, my name is Pía González, i'm eighteen years old, join in this year to career of antrhopology in the university of Chile and i come from La Ligua in where live with my mother and sister, i like in my freetime reading books about society, political science and ocasionally fiction science, beside listening music of all style except reggaeton. This year i take the subject the english, level pre-intermediate, i hope progress in the listenings, because think that is my wide weakness, even so, i like read to text in english for broaden my vocabulary. 

For other side, i hope that this class is didactics form feasible, take into account that english is not my favorite subject and be difficult something aspects. With very energy for begin this subject, take care and see you soon.
